Now that video has surfaced of Britney Spears announcing her latest wardrobe malfunction onstage in Tampa, Florida, on Sunday, the pop singer may well be regretting that particular Circus getup. And on Friday, while walking the catwalk at Vivienne Westwood’s Paris Fashion Week show, Pamela Anderson found out the hard way that most fashion just is not designed to support someone with her bust. But we’re here to remind Pam and Brit that they’re in good company. These latest incidents assure their placement in a pantheon of wardrobe malfunctions we’re not likely to forget, ever:

· During a 2005 concert in Germany, Mariah Carey’s dress came apart in the middle of the show. Fans in the audience caught a quick glimpse of the singer topless before organizers cut out the lights.

· In 2005, Anna Nicole Smith shocked the crowd at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry, when her dress slipped leaving her exposed. Oh, how we miss her!

· During her tumultuous 2007, Britney Spears stepped out of a car, surrounded by paparazzi, when her dress pulled back to reveal she was actually panty-less. This was not an isolated incident for Miss Spears.

· Lindsay Lohan was on the red carpet of the 2008 MTV Movie Awards when a gust of wind pulled up her dress. Unlike Britney, she was at least wearing underwear.

· Back in 2006, during her music video shoot, Paris Hilton gave her bathing suit all it could handle, until it finally gave way.

· Then there’s Tara Reid. While on the carpet for Diddy’s 2004 birthday celebration, her dress slipped off on one shoulder revealing her breast in front of a sea of photographers.

· And we’d be remiss not to mention the moment that popularized the term “wardrobe malfunction” in the first place: Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake’s infamous 2004 Super Bowl halftime performance. Seems we still don’t know what exactly went wrong with Miss Jackson’s dress there.

You’d think, by now, that stylists and assistants would figure out how to protect these stars from overexposure. But where would the fun be in that?

MUMBAI - US ACTRESS Pamela Anderson has appealed to the authorities in India's financial capital Mumbai not to put down nuisance stray dogs, instead calling for them to be sterilised.

'It is well established that killing stray dogs is not a permanent solution to controlling their populations,' the former 'Baywatch' star said in a letter to the municipal commission of Greater Mumbai.

'Dogs cannot use condoms, but with the municipality's help, they can be 'fixed' - painlessly, quickly and permanently,' she added in the letter, made public by activist group the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta).

There are thought to be some 70,000 stray dogs in India's financial and entertainment capital, and there are widespread concerns about their role in spreading disease, including deadly rabies.

Anderson's letter, which cited World Health Organisation and Animal Health Board of India support for mass sterilisation, comes after a legal ruling here to destroy nuisance dogs.

Expressing her concern at the court decision, the 41-year-old called instead for civic authorities to promote a sterilisation programme for stray dogs and those adopted and bought from animal shelters and pet shops. -- AFP

The former 'Baywatch' actress - who has two sons, Brandon, 12, and 10-year-old Dylan, with the Motley Crue rocker - is looking forward to the pair's intimate celebration on December 31.

Pamela, who posted a naked magazine cover shot of her and Tommy, wrote on her official blog: "We are spending new years together in Montreal.

How romantic." Pamela moved back in with Tommy earlier this year and, despite describing them as an "old married couple",

she insisted they weren't having sex. She said: "We are living together but only because I'm homeless right now.

The former 'Baywatch' star has written an open letter to US President-elect Barack Obama, outlining ways to make the country better.

Pamela believes cultivating the illegal substance would "save children" and help the environment.

She wrote on her official blog: "I think we should legalise marijuana, tax and monitor - farm hemp etc. This would make our borders less corrupt and then I think eventually this will be a more secure option and save children in the long run - we should be able to farm hemp in America - it's just silly. It would create jobs and be good for the environment."

Pamela also controversially suggests anyone found guilty of molesting children or possessing child pornography, should be castrated for their crimes.

She continues: "Government must castrate every molester - potential molester - err on the safe side.

NY Mag is reporting that Vivienne Westwood is lining up Pamela Anderson for her next campaign. According to the goss, the ads will be shot in a trailer park (there are so many jokes I could make right now).

Some might recall that Pammy sat on the front row of Westwood's Red Label spring '09 show at London Fashion Week in September. It was a bit of an unusual call at the time, but now we can see that there may have been more to it than meets the eye.

Big Brother has been pulled from the Australian schedules by Network Ten seven years after it began there. Former Baywatch star Anderson, 41, was flown into the house last week in an apparent attempt to revive the show's flagging ratings. Ten programming head David Mott said of the decision to axe the series: "After eight successful seasons and 1,316 episodes, Ten has announced that Big Brother will not be returning in 2009. We are immensely proud of the show and the incredible success it has enjoyed. We're ending the season on a high.

"Big Brother is the undisputed grand-daddy of modern, commercial reality television in Australia. Today's reality dramas have all, on some level, been inspired by Big Brother," he said. "The show has taken on topics of race, sex, homosexuality, eating disorders and alcohol abuse, many of which had been handled gingerly, if at all, on TV." Big Brother originated in the Netherlands in 1999 and the UK version launched on Channel 4 a year later. In 2006, Channel 4 secured the rights to Big Brother until 2010 in a deal though to be worth up to £180 million.

But viewing figures have averaged 3.3 million in the current ninth series, 5% down from the 3.6 million this time last year. Bookies have now slashed the odds for Big Brother to be axed in the UK following the ditching of the format in Australia from 16-1 to 8-1.

A movie insider said: “Pamela left the set and went for a walk. She needed a time out. She was that upset.” In the scene, Pamela’s Invisible Girl character was required to call for her Invisible Dog, who only becomes visible as it is picked up by the busty blonde.

The ‘Baywatch’ star's ten-week marriage to Salomon was annulled, with court documents listing ‘fraud’ as the reason for the annulment. Salomon and Anderson, 40, got married on October 6 in Las Vegas. They separated on December 13.

Court papers entered on Friday (March 21) showed that Salomon agreed to a filing by Anderson in late February, requesting that the marriage be voided. Celebrity friends Pamela Anderson and Geoff Courtnall have teamed up at plenty of charity events over the years. Now they're working together to develop a residential project on Anderson's grandparents' property in Ladysmith.

"It is something that Pamela is going to get very involved in - in the promotion and marketing of the project," Courtnall said yesterday. When news of plans for the 83-unit, condominium-townhouse development appeared on Anderson's website last year, 150 calls of interest poured in, he said.

Movie and television star, sex symbol and animal-rights advocate Anderson was raised in the historic community of close to 7,000, between Duncan and Nanaimo. Victoria native Geoff Courtnall coaches the Victoria Grizzlies, following a career as a professional hockey player with the National Hockey League. Their friendship is long-standing. "We have met over the years while I was playing hockey.... We have done different charity events together."

U.S. resident Anderson has returned to the Island to support charities. For example, she was a celebrity guest here in 2004 at the Courtnall Celebrity Classic golf tournament, aimed at raising funds for mental-health support. "She does a lot of charity events," Courtnall said. A development permit application from Anderson and Courtnall's company, Frontrow Developments, has been submitted to Ladysmith council for the five-acre waterfront site. A height variance is also required for the sloping property on the south side of the municipality.

The aim is to create an environmentally friendly development, Courtnall said. "We want to build a really nice quality project that we could be proud of."

About 60 citizens attended Saturday's open house in Ladysmith showcasing project plans, said Peter Laughlin, part-owner of Victoria's Wessex Project Management, development managers for the project. "We are going to be delivering an extremely high-quality product." Environmentally friendly features include a geothermal heat exchange system and pavement that is water-permeable, and a recirculating pond and stream to prevent heavy runoff, he said.

Anderson's grandparents operated a holiday cottage business on the site, which Anderson purchased a few years ago, he said. Along with 72 condominiums in three separate buildings, and 11 townhouses in three other buildings, plans call for moorage for up to 16 to 18 boats owned by development residents.

To minimize the building's footprint on the site, plans call for one seven-storey condo building, and two four-storey condo blocks. One of those four-storey blocks would be built into the bank on the waterfront, rising to just one level above ground, he said. The townhouses would be built in one- and two-level buildings.

The density proposed is less than is permitted under the current zoning, Laughlin said. "We have tried to leave large areas of green space and preserve as many trees as possible." If all goes smoothly, construction would start in the summer, with the build-out timeframe based on sales. The waterfront portion would be developed first, Laughlin said. Prices have not yet been determined for the units, which would range from about 1,200 to 1,500 square feet.
